Eastern England is home to some of the UK’s most significant health and research assets, including world-leading research institutes, major NHS trusts and a vibrant life sciences cluster. The Eastern England SDE provides the secure infrastructure to connect the region’s previously fragmented health data, creating a single, trusted route for research and innovation that will benefit patients and populations.

Designed with strong involvement from patient and public representatives, the SDE is enabling research into some of the UK’s most pressing health challenges. Its architecture supports the discovery and connection of patient data and provides the tools and environment for secure data analysis. This is helping researchers, clinicians, and innovators to generate new insights, develop novel solutions, and accelerate improvements in health and care.

This launch event will showcase the data, tools and services that the SDE can deliver, including demonstrations of the end-to-end process and early examples of research that is already underway. It will provide space to connect with partners across the region and practical guidance on supporting new research studies.

Join us to celebrate this important milestone and to help shape the future of secure health data research in Eastern England.
