The Eastern England Secure Data Environment (SDE) has become the first organisation to join use MY data’s new Official Supporter Programme, reinforcing its commitment to ensuring patient voices remain at the centre of how health data is used for research and innovation.

use MY data is the UK’s only independent, not-for-profit, patient-led movement focused exclusively on the use of patient data to save lives and improve health and care. Through its new Official Supporter Programme, the organisation is seeking to expand its reach and impact, helping to educate, campaign and champion the responsible use of patient data while supporting greater patient involvement in decision-making.

As the first official supporter, the Eastern England SDE is supporting use MY data’s mission to promote the benefits of health data use while ensuring transparency, accountability and public trust remain central to this work.

The Eastern England SDE enables secure and trusted access to health and care data for approved research that has the potential to improve patient outcomes, support innovation and strengthen healthcare services. A core part of its approach is working closely with patients and the public to ensure data is used responsibly and in ways that deliver clear public benefit.

Mark Avery, Director of the Eastern England SDE, said:

“At the Eastern England Secure Data Environment, our goal is to enable secure, trusted access to health data that can improve lives through research and innovation. We are proud to support use MY data in championing the benefits of health data use while ensuring transparency, accountability and patient involvement remain central to this work.”

By becoming the first member of the Official Supporter Programme, the Eastern England SDE is helping to strengthen use MY data’s work and support its efforts to keep patients at the centre of data-enabled research and innovation.
